  3. What are three disadvantages to painting with oil paints? It takes time to dry paint, can't see many details of it and it the odor of it is too strong.

  4. Why do you need to prime your surface before painting with oil paints? So that it will give the oil paint a smoother surface and flow better.

  5. How do you clean up your brushes and equipment after using oil paints? By using a water as a solvent with 2 different parts; the dirty and the clean solvent to clean your paint brush in a proper way. Lastly, dip it in the safflower oil to get it more effectively clean.

  7. What is “Imprimatura” or “grisaille” in painting?   It is so lightly applied that it becomes a transparent layer that allows the white background underneath to show through.

  8. What interesting facts did you find out about oil painting? That it would take some time to dry unlike the acrylic one and that it needed a prime surface which I find very interesting to do.

My favourite art paint

This is one of my favorite paint I have ever done because it has an illusion thing with it which is when you flip it at 180 degrees you will see that it is actually the person that looked at the side view where I ended up putting it with different colors onto it such as the nose would supposedly look like a mountain, the eyes would be the boat and the har would be the grass. This painting is about going to a nice view and quiet place which symbolizes peace, it's my brain that draws it on the piece of paper.

I hope it worked that way.

My favorite piece of subject

 6/05/2022

I have always loved to draw cartoons. However, since it's really not for me, I  decided to try another style of drawing like drawing realistic faces but I usually copy them like how their nose is structured which is the hardest part for me hence why I wanna learn how to make it more stable and more of a realistic. Here is the blind contour I did that draws from my mind without looking on the piece of paper..

Actually, it's only my first attempt to do it, because I know this is the only way to figure out what is really my favorite style of art and I think it worked that way which is messed up too.

Here is Vincent Van Gogh's Impasto painting technique:

Layering in watercolors- Glazing slowly builds up watercolor layers, a little at a time, as the artist fully fleshes out their work. Typically, glazing (or layering) adds a new layer once the previous layers and washes have dried.

Sgraffito- sgraffito, (Italian: “scratched”), in the visual arts, a technique used in painting, pottery, and glass, which consists of putting down a preliminary surface, covering it with another, and then scratching the superficial layer in such a way that the pattern or shape that emerges is of the lower color.

Notes: (What is going on?)
There are various artist that has their own different style of art and they have their own kaupapa that is based on their presence of art. They are 4 established artists that I have picked in terms of their style of art. It's because of how they beautifully created their canvas with good details and intelligently create good imagery that shows an artist's best quality impressions. This tells my mind that this has to be on a high level and that says that they are the establised artist. It's repectively, van gogh, Cy Twombly, Richard Saja and Edgar dagas.

  • How are you going to use images to explore it? Just by its patterns of the scheme from that and what it is created in which tools they have used or what type of an imagery in an art of painting they have put out which would always has a meaning to it that I can feel of.
